En 1998 un Francés trato de suicidarse de un modo muy especial. Se situó al borde de un acantilado, se ató una cuerda al cuello y la amarró a una gran roca. Después ingirió veneno, se prendió fuego y mientras saltaba desde el acantilado se disparó un tiro a la cabeza. Pero la bala no dió en el blanco, sino que cortó la soga y el hombre cayo al mar vivo, el agua apagó el fuego y de tantas sacudidas vomitó el veneno. Pero al final logró su cometido, murió de hipotermia horas después.
